Dr. Ari Nowain and The Center for GI Health approach patient care on a deep and comprehensive level. We limit the number of patients we see each day so that we can spend more time with each person, make more accurate diagnoses, and offer more comfortable and specialized treatments. Limiting our patient pool also allows us to develop deeper relationships with each patient, and offer care whenever patients need it. We can often schedule same or next day appointments, and the doctor is always available to discuss issues and concerns.

Consultation visits with Dr. Nowain generally last about 30-45 minutes. During this process, he will spend the time to understand your symptoms and to review any previous workup and treatments you’ve had.

If you are a new patient, you’ll want to fax or email us:

• Previous medical records
• Laboratory results
• Past procedure information, specifically operative reports and pathology reports (biopsy results)
• Prior imaging studies (i.e. x-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, MRI)
• A list of medications.

After reviewing your symptoms, the doctor will formulate a workup to obtain a diagnosis and design a treatment plan focused on relieving symptoms through lifestyle changes and, if necessary, medications that have the safest side effect profile possible. Dr. Nowain spends time educating each patient about GI health to ensure you are involved, engaged, and empowered.

Laboratory Services

The Center for GI Health offers in-office blood tests and other diagnostic services during your office visit, if necessary. Blood draws are typically performed in the office by our highly skilled nurses. We always attempt to use a high quality, in-network laboratory to minimize any cost to our patients.
